The Ancient City of Fenghuang is located in Fenghuang County, Hunan Province, People's republic of China. It is an exceptionally well-preserved ancient town that harbors unique ethnic languages, customs, arts as well as many distinctive architectural remains of Ming and Qing styles. It is placed in a natural mountain setting, incorprating the natural flow of water into city layout. The majority of the city's population is comprised of the Miao and Tujia minorities.
