Basics of Chinese Language

Speaking even basic Chinese will make a huge difference in your travel experience; both you and the Chinese people you meet in China will feel far more comfortable if you are able to exchange at least a few basice phrases in Chinese. Chinese people think their language is incredibly difficult to learn and they will appreciate even the smallest effort on your part.

The truth is Chinese language is not easy for English speakers however it is no more difficult than for example Hungarian or Finish language.

If you want to lear Chinese language seriously there is plenty of free resources on the Internet (viewtopic.php?f=39&t=955) although it is more than likely you don't want to go into whole that trouble only because of 3-4 weeks in China.

In this case you may wish to check out BBC web site, they offer some basic phrases along with audio files for each of those phrases. You can easily print them on the index cards and take with you to China (even better idea is to buy a phrase book!).
