When it comes to inexpensive accommodation Beijing is budget travelers' paradise; there are dozens of decent hostels and guesthouses available and practically all of them are centrally located, which means you will be close to all important Beijing tourist sights.

That is very important because when you get to Beijing you should be able to show the taxi driver where you want to go (Hostel name written in English or pinyin won't help you a lot!).
